Mahale and Katavi 8-Day Safari

An exceptional remote safari and chimpanzee experience out of Arusha. This trip is only available on Monday and Thursday.

DAY 1:
Arrive Kilimanjaro or Dar es salaam:
Arrive Kilimanjaro or Dar es salaam Airport, transfer to the hotel in town for overnight at Mountain Village Serena/Dar es salaam Serena Hotel.

 

DAY 2:
Arusha/Dar es salaam – Mahale:
Transfer to Arusha/Julius K.Nyerere airport for the light aircraft to Mahale Mountains National Park. On arrival transfer to Kungwe Beach lodge for lunch. Pm visit the fishermen in the village, dinner and overnight at Kungwe Beach lodge.

 

DAY 3:
Mahale:
Full day of Chimpanzee trekking in Mahale, today you during your trekking always take some times to watch birds around. All meals and overnight at Kungwe Beach resort.

 

DAY 4:
Mahale:
Another full day of Chimpanzee trekking in Mahale, during your trekking always take some times to watch birds around, you may have an option of fishing and boat safari. All meals and overnight at Kungwe Beach resort.

 

DAY 5:
Mahale – Katavi:
After breakfast drive to the airstrip for the light aircraft to Katavi National Park. On arrival transfer to Katavi Wildlife Camp for lunch. Pm game drive in Katavi, dinner and overnight at Katavi Wildlife Camp.

 

DAY 6:
Katavi:
Full day game drive in Katavi National Park, in Katavi the vegetation is amazing, Katavi is only where the true Miombo can be seen. All meals and overnight at Katavi Wildlife Camp.

 

DAY 7:
Katavi:
Another full day in Katavi, the park is very rich of cats, hippos and crocodiles . Birdlife is abundant in Katavi. All meals and overnight at Katavi Wildlife Camp.

 

DAY 8:
Katavi – Arusha/Dar es salaam:
After breakfast drive to the airstrip for the flight back to Arusha/Dar es salaam airport for your flight back home or spend a night so that you can proceed with an extension of your choice.
